I run cross country and track, and my mom did do marathons (her knee went bad after her last.) She says not to use Nike shoes. Everyone on my team who is good at running wears Nike shoes. As of now I wear Adias. My mom says I should get Saucony. What brand is the best for running.

Ignore brand – as I am sure your mum will tell you – go for the running shoes that fit your feet – get them that don’t fit and you will get the blisters
Also check your running style – or get the running shop to check your running style – particularly if you are getting road shoes since if you get the wrong kind (support and so on) then this can twist your foot the wrong way with every step – and if the twist is wrong then this repeated twisting can result in injuries (like your mom has). The best way to do this is to get a running shop to do something called gait analysis and also take your last pair of trainers along with you so they can see how you land and so on.
As for brand – ignore this until you have decided your running style and need (also called pronation), and which shoes fit.
Then once you have 2 or 3 shoes that meet your running style then you can go for brand.
Personally I woudn’t wear Nike but that is based on what I think is a flawed and waisted opportunity they had with the Nike+ system (don’t like it), I have run well with Brookes, Saucony, Reebok and my favourite is New Balance.
Adidas make good track shoes and these are my current track shoes (most of my running club have Adidas but that is what the local shop sells mostly)
saucony are good. i like aasics too.
saucony
saucony & oasis they are the most comfortable.
